Sidney Werner practices primarily in the areas of estate planning, probate and trust administration, with some work in real estate and corporate law, He has been a member of the Florida Bar since 1975, having received recognition in 2025 for his 50 years of membership. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1972 from the University of Pittsburgh, where he was president of the ZBT fraternity chapter and an officer on the Interfraternity Council. In 1975 he received his juris doctor degree from Stetson University College of Law.
Over his career he has provided lender representation for commercial and residential foreclosures, litigated commercial landlord-tenant matters, participated in boundary and survey dispute litigation, handled class action quiet title actions, negotiated and drafted a wide variety of commercial contracts, served as a securities arbitrator, represented clients in security broker malfeasance actions, and provided representation in corporate negotiations and litigation. All of this has served him well in appreciating the issues facing his estate planning clients in their businesses and those issues facing the trustees and personal representatives of the estate in which he is involved.
Mr. Werner is a past Chairman of the Annual Fundraising Campaign for the Pinellas & Pasco Counties Jewish Federation, a past president of Congregation Beth Chai of Seminole and Congregation B’nai Israel of St. Petersburg, past member of the Board of Directors of the Seminole Center of the YMCA, and served on the Board of Directors of the T.O.P Jewish Foundation, a philanthropic directed fund. He has been recognized as a Florida Trend Legal Elite.
He is married to Phyllis and has 3 sons and 7 grandchildren. Although he no longer competes in pro-am and amateur ballroom dance competitions, he and Phyllis continue to enjoy stepping out onto the dance floor when the occasion arises.
